I read in the paper today about a building in downtown Bedford that evidently collapsed around 8:30 last night. There was no apparent reason to the building collapse, but luckily nobody was inside at the time. The building housed an auxilary storage place for an automotive company. A local company called Jenkins automotive service housed the building.
I mention this only to touch light on the fact that is scary living in Bedford and knowing how unsafe some of these older buildings are when it is a known fact that Bedford happens to lie smack dab in the middle of a earthquake fault line (New Madrid ??) that is only rivaled by the San Andreas fault line (along the pacific), in the United States. Granted, the fault line hasn’t been too terribly active for a long time, but they always say the “big one” is coming soon!!
I’m sure I shall sleep well tonight. 😉
