By Oct. 13th, the Ansari X Prize, a prize of $10 million that goes to the first group to succesful transport a private spacecraft into twice in two weeks, could be claimed by a group who heads the Spaceship One project. This project, backed by M$ co-founder Paul Allen, could become the first privatized company to have two consecutive launches of the first privatized spacecraft. As we reported earlier, this company tried and succeeded in becoming the first privatized spacecraft to leave Earth’s orbit.
This group isn’t the only group vying for a spot, a Canadian group is close on their heals and have launches planned for the same time period of the year.
