You know you’re not in New York City when…

– There isn’t a guard posted at the entrance to a Walgreen’s pharmacy
– You worry about running into somebody you know when you go out
– You drive to the corner store, two blocks away
– Cars actually stop and allow you to cross the street
– There isn’t a Starbucks on every corner
– You only have three pizza options in town: Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, and Dominos
– You’re in the ‘city’ and you only get two bars on your cell phone
– The closest thing to the Subway is ‘Uncle Ned’s’ train set in the basement
– You realize the room you’re currently in is half size of your entire apartment
– You begin to look at your computer and the internet as your only link to the outside world.

Don’t get me wrong… I love Bedford. It’s just hard not to see the drastic differences in a metropolis of 8 Million compared to a town of 18 Thousand.

I love both places very much and am proud to call both of them home, but I know in my heart that New York City is where I need to be right now in my life.
